another familiar face on my train ride home each day, this woman was pretending to listen to her painful friend discussing her job. she had that glazed over stare that sort of says “i wish you were stuck between carriages and the doors were locked”.
trains can be overwhelmingly claustrophobic like that, a mixture of unpleasant work colleagues, school acquaintances and, of course, the occasional junkie thrown in for good measure. this particular woman had great hair, which is why i chose her for my sketch. the lines of this drawing are ink pen. |
