>fish 001 > brendon marczan, 2008 > original artwork > 370mm wide x 254mm high (unframed) (14.57" x 10") the first in this series of fish sketches, i decided to incorporate my triangular tipi pattern into the inside and outside of the fish body as i did in my sketch ‘optopus 001’. it’s a different way of representing the scales of the fish, which i feel are often unnecessarily reproduced in exact detail when fish are presented in art. i don’t know the technical names of my fish. they are often quick sketches from images in newspapers and childrens books and i don’t get a chance to catch the blurb. the fine lines are created with ink pen.
