this girl on the train had too many clips in her hair. there's no need for dozens of metal objects pulling your hair in the wrong direction. the girl inspired me to try a sharper pattern in creating the movement of the hair. i sketched her face quickly and then the outline of her hair but i didn't sketch the bottom, so i missed out on seeing how it fell below her face.
this was the last sketch from my sketchbook before it got destroyed in the rain. the fine lines are created with ink pen, the colour is pencil. on the right is a close-up of the detail in the hair. |
